Year 6 had a great day out at the NASA Space Exhibition.
Migration: Moving People Topic

Year 6 have been busy this term learning all about migration; why people move to different places to live, either permanently or temporarily.

We learned that sometimes people choose to move for reasons like better jobs or warmer weather (pull factors); sometimes people have no choice and are forced to move because of things like war or famine (push factors).

For our project based homework tasks we could choose to research famous people who were refugees, design a game involving facts about migration, research a news story about a natural disaster that caused migration, make fact-files about the differences between economic and political refugees, make drawings or collages showing migration of birds or animals, and make a museum exhibit.
